Self-assembled aggregates of IgGs as templates for the growth of clusters of gold nanoparticles

Clusters of gold nanoparticles are grown (see picture) from templates formed from the self-assembly of immunoglobulin Gs (IgGs) by using a synthetic divalent antigen. Carbohydrates inherent to IgGs create local nucleation centers for the electroless deposition of gold.
